LONDON: MICHAEL JOSEPH, 1971 Green Cloth Boards with gilt titles to spine, 255 x 210 mm approx. 288 pp.Illustrated with over 20 photographs most of which in colour the book is based on the investigation commissioned by the Royal Society/Royal Geographical Society into the flora, fauna, climate, soils, rocks and human inhabitants of central Brazil undertaken from 1967 to 1969. The author, a trained Zoologist and Scientific Fellow of the Zoological Society of London and of the Royal Geographical Society was on the expedition and the copy offered by us is signed by him on a compliments slip from the Royal Society and The Royal Geographical Society pasted to the front free end paper. The book having been given to Roderick Cavaliero who spent time in Brazil as an Administrator. VG/VG (Book- A little shelf wear to extremities of boards. Name of recipient of the book from the Royal Society on compliments slip as above with his ink rubber ex libris stamp above. Dust Jacket- a little light shelf rubbing to head of spine.
