This is an exhibition catalogue for a show 29 September, 1989 --4 March 1990 at the Renwick Gallery in D. C. , 27 March 1990-8 July 1990 at the National Academy of Design, NYC. Tiffany ( 1848 – 1933) was an American artist and designer who worked in the decorative arts; is best known for his work in stained glass. He is most associated with the Art Nouveau and Aesthetic movements. He is renowned for his stained glass work, particularly lamps and windows. His glass making techniques were such that the affect of light on his work turned them from mere pieces of glass to glowing gems, still highly sought and treasured many decades later.
