New York: Weybright and Talley, 1968. First edition. Octavo. Black cloth; ix, 319 pp.; black and white photographs; dust jacket. An early biography of King by William R. Miller, an editor of Reconciliation, who published King's first article. Miller, who was a white Christian pacifist, was drawn to King's brand of protest and helped inspire him to write a seminal work on the topic, Nonviolence (1964). Some dust-soiling and foxing to top edge with gift inscription to front free endpaper; the dust jacket is rubbed and slightly edgeworn with a few short closed tears along the top edge. VG/VG.
