New Westminister: Cherchez Enterprises, 1978. (CAD) SIGNED BY AUTHOR to the title page; INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR to the endpaper, although the inscription does not match the signature (The author suffered from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis so perhaps she signed the book but the inscription was written by others), yellow highlighting to pages 63, 64, 65,66, and 68, there are faint marginal markings to a couple of other pages, thus Good in Acceptable dust jacket with edge tears and chips. This book was published in hardcover in a limited edition of 150 copies. Line drawings. Merle Atkinson was born in New Westmisnter BC in 1928 and in 1963 was the first police woman to serve with the New Westminster Police Department. She married fellow officer Ed Cadenhead in 1969. In 1977 she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis , a terminal illness. This was her first book, an account of her early life. She had planned a second book about her career as policewoman. Uncommon. (2.0 JM HOZ 401/4. Signed by Author. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. 4to - over 9¾" - 12".
