About This Item
E-153: George H. Doran. Good+. 1925. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Hardcover. 8vo. George H. Doran, New York. 1925. 341 pgs. First Edition/First Printing. Bound in maroon cloth boards with gilt titles present to the front board and the spine. Boards have light shelf-wear present present to the extremities. Gilt is rubbed and faded along the spine. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. First published in 1924, this book is dedicated to John Wing Prentiss, a new breed of stockbroker of that era. This fictionalized version of the other side of Wall Street covers the story of a brokerage firm from its founding through 1924 and shows how the stockbroker works from the inside and what he did to make millions without whitewashing and propaganda. This is a good teacher in a personal form where you learn a lot more about human nature and business after the age of the buccaneer but still before the great depression and security regulations which followed. E-153; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
