About This Item

Madam Belle Brezing. Buggy Whip Press (1st Edition, 1983). Hardcover with red cloth boards and gilt titles, with dust jacket. Dust jacket is in rough condition, with numerous small tears and chipping, sticker residue at the top of front cover, spine faded, and a 2" diagonal closed tear on the front, extending from the top of the spine. The book itself is in great shape; clean and unmarked; binding tight.

This is thoroughly researched and well written biography of Belle Brezing, Lexington, Kentucky's famous madam, who ran the most orderly of disorderly houses. She is said to be the inspiration for the madam in "Gone with the Wind." Few copies are in circulation.
