About This Item
New York: Harper and Row, 1974. First American Edition. 8vo. 21cm x 15cm. Publisher's black cloth spine over black paper covered boards. Dustjacket. Titled in blue and bronze to the spine, a little bumping and edgwear, clean and handsome, in a bright, strong, priceclipped dustjacket with some light marginal wear. A very good copy. 273pp. Internally clean. An examination of the religions of the African Diaspora in South America, several of which have fallen under the blanket term of "Macumba" including Candomblé, Quimbanda, Umbanda etc. Recently the term has leant towards defining the "darker" aspects of these various religions, although that stance is probably relative.
