Signed and inscribed copy to David Chertok, noted collector of jazz on film from his private collection, by the author, dated 1984. Illustrated with photographs. First edition, first printing with full number line. As gospel singers and blues singers begat Louis Armstrong, so Armstrong gave rise to all jazz singers after him, or so Gourse's thesis goes.
