Half title with old gift inscription date 1858. Text block generally clean with only the odd bit of spoting. A very good plus copy. George Curtis [1824-1892] was an American writer associated with the Transcendentalist movement and stayed at the utopian colony, Brook Farm in 1842-43. This is a series of articles on trips near New York including to the Catskills, the Hudson, Niagara, Saratoga, and Newport. The book is dedicated to Charles Dana. Uncommon. 1852
