London: Blackie & Son Ltd., 1944. First printing. Hardcover. Very Good/good. Brown decorated paper boards with pictorial to front above. 12 colour plates and b/w text illustrations. Wrapper has sellotape at the corners and is price clipped, with small tears no page numbers, no date. Duodecimo (15 x 12 cm). Publisher's light brown patterned cloth with a coloured plate to the front in a warmly illustrated dust jacket, Fresh, clean plates. Beautifully illustrated throughout by the author in rich colours. Gift inscription for 1947.
