About This Item

Princeton, New Jersey: Princeton University Press, 1975. 290 pp, 8 3/4" H. "(D)raws on the remarkably complete records of the British government offices concerned with logistics during the Revolutionary War and army service departments such as commissary, quartermaster and barrackmaster generals to provide a full account of the everyday life of the British army and an accurate record of how logistical and administrative problems in America affected the course of the war. His study makes it clear that the British army in America depended almost entirely on Britain for supplies, and that for six years inadequate and sometimes corrupt administration seriously affected the course of operations and the morale of the troops. An organization capable of supplying the army was not developed until 1781, too late to change the outcome of the war." Previous owner's small stamp on front pastedown, moderate bump to bottom of spine/rear hinge/board area causing wrinkling at bottom 1" of spine - migrates into last few pages, small surface paper pull at top of rear pastedown at hinge. Dust jacket very light edge wear, light edge wrinkling, 1" closed tear (archivally taped) at bottom of front hinge, creasing and tiny tears/chips at bottom of spine.. Not Signed. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good-/Very Good-.
