Some of the chapters include; Boiler Performance, High Rates of Combustion and Boiler Efficiency, Spark Losses, Radiation Losses, The Front End, Superheating in the Smoke-Box, Machine Friction, Concerning Diameter of Driving Wheels, etc. 439 pages with charts, tables, illustrations, a few photographs, formulas and index, plus nineteen pages of Wiley book ads in the rear. Bound in original brown cloth with rule on the covers and spine stamped in blind and lettering on the spine in gilt. Ex-library with pocket and checkout label on the front endpapers, library stamp on the title and contents pages and call numbers on the spine. Appears to have never been checked out. Professionally rebacked with original spine cloth pressed on, and interior hinges replaced. A very good copy.
