This identifies some of the treasures of the DeGolyer Library with delight and surprise to fine many significant books brought forth for this exhibition. This exhibit considers the impact of a significant body of work aimed at informing and motivating Europeans to travel to and eventually settle in America. This exhibit aims to beguile viewers into a new way of thinking about a significant and extensive body of Americana: early works painstakingly printed and bound in vellum in the Old World, rare imprints issued by early presses in the New World, more recent material produced by territorial printers in the Southwest, or issued by the U S Government Printing Office, and promotional literature published with color photographs advertising business ventures.
Condition: A near fine copy.
