Edizione del 1939 di questa famosa opera dello scrittore, poeta, drammaturgo, politico e gionalista Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863-1938). Lo scritto quando venne pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1892 fu accusato di immoralità. Narra la storia di Tullio Hermil, libertino aristocratico che, venuto a sapere che la moglie Giuliana aspetta un figlio dal suo unico sofferto adulterio, non esita ad eliminare il bambino appena nato esponendolo al gelo di una nevicata. Romanzo considerato in parte autobiografico in quanto la protagonista Giuliana corrisponde alle donne amate da D'annunzio durante la stesura del romanzo: la moglie, Maria di Gallese e l'amante Barbara Leoni. Beautiful edition of 1937 of this famous work written by the italian writer, poet, dramawriter, politician and journalist Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863-1938).<BR> When the novel was pubvlished for the first time in 1892 it was accused of immorality. It tells about the history of Tullio Hermil, an aristocratic man, who when he discovers that his wife Giuliana is pregnant by her unique lover, don't hesitate to kill the baby leaving him out of the house during a snowing. This novel is considered to be an autobiographic novel, infact Giuliana is similar to women loved by D'Annunzio during the period the novel was written: his wife, Maria di Gallese and his lover Barbara Leoni.
