Written for a country of the verge of World War II, this attempts to show what war is like - "Report to Major Roberts" involving a young Lietenant, tell of 4 companies, cut off by a barrage of German artillery in the Allied Retreat from the Marne in July 1918. and "Blood Lust" describes an American attack on the town of Fismette, August 1918. Includes an introduction by the author. Illustrated with drawings by Lyle Justis. 153 pp.
