John Murray, 1849. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1849. New and Revised Edition. 492 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth covered boards with gilt. Covered in a non removable lamination. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Some occasional moderate cracking to gutters throughout, binding is shaky. Heavy cracking at the hinges with exposed binding material. Rebind is quite tight, creasing gutters. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened.
