Decorated end papers. 112 pages. With text by Haley, and reproductions of photographic prints by Smith. [Adams, THE RAMPAGING HERD, 966.] SIGNED AND INSCRIBED by J. Evetts Haley on the half-title page to Harry Darby, a prominent Kansas City industrialist and the former U.S. Senator from Kansas: "For Harry Darby[,] rugged and distinguished American and esteemed friend of J. Evetts Haley August 5, 1955". With Darby's distinctive book plate opposite the half-title page. Publisher's illustrated slipcase is worn on edges and corners, with small strips of outer card board missing at bottom front edge and rear top corner.
