Hinges have been reinforced with tape on both volumes. Pages clean, tanned. Cloth over boards is shelf worn with wear at corner tips and extremities of spine. Top page edges are gilt. Gilt lettering on spine is a bit darkened but visible. ; Autobiography of Anglo-Irish writer and activist Frances Power Cobbe (1822-1904). She founded a number of animal advocacy groups, including the National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) in 1875 and the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) in 1898, and was a member of the executive council of the London National Society for Women's Suffrage. Ex-Library; 8.25" (18.5 cm) tall; 662 pages.
