Biography of Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of Wellington, one of the leading political and military figures of nineteenth century Britain, twice Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is also remembered as one of the commanders who ended the Napoleonic Wars when Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo in 1815. Written by G. R. Gleig. A new edition. Rebound in beautiful full straight up grain morocco binding with five raised bands, gilt tooling to extremities, gilt to edges. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only, lightly bumped to extremities. Previous owner's gift inscription to recto front blank leaf, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to first and last few leaves only, pages otherwise bright and clean. Near Fine
