First printing of the text of this letter from Marin to his old friend and champion, Alfred Stieglitz, written in a reflective, somewhat fragmented, poetic mode: "...The one who cannot now paint anything other than masterpieces [/] Still he cusses them [/] What right has he to cuss masterpieces? [/] I have discovered it [/] - this perfection is getting to be damned tiresome [/] - not to be able to [/] make a mistake now and then...."
