Bound in a full green morocco. Written by British historian and politician, Lord Macaulay, also known as Thomas Babington Macaulay.This work is comprised of a collection of lyrical poems, or lays, regarding ancient Rome, including The Prophecy of Capys, the story of Horatius and The Battle of the Lake Regillus. With an ink inscription of Lucy Wood, dated Xmas 1865, and another inscription of Christie Southenden, both to the front endpaper.Bound by New, with a stamp to the rear paste down. In a full green morocco binding. Externally, smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine. The odd mark to boards. Ink inscription to the front endpaper. Binding stamp to the rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout. Very Good
