The book covers his hardscrabble life, his desire of economic growth in the American West, his hatred of slavery and the preservation of the Union. As a president he learned military strategy, a complex defense of the Constitution, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the fate of republic and of the freed black Americans. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
