Illustrated throughout, in colour and monochrome, by the Austrian artist, Raphael Kirchner, with text in French and German. Generally very good internally in original wrappers which are foxed and have been reattached to spine where staples have failed. Uncommon.

Folio, [16] leaves (printed rectos only), comprising an index leaf, a leaf of text ('The Kirchner Girl'), 12 colour plates, and 2 advertising leaves, plus advertisements on the inside front cover and both sides of the rear cover. Ribbon-bound overlapping wrappers with a circular colour portrait mounted on the front cover; wrappers slightly creased and marked, and a trifle worn at the extremities; overall, an excellent copy (internally fine). Raphael Kirchner (1876 - 2 August 1917) 'was an Austrian artist, principally a portrait painter and illustrator best known for Art Nouveau and early pin-up work' (Wikipedia); this volume showcases the latter.
