Endpapers darkened, light spotting throughout, o/w. contents thor. vg. Full calf leather binding gently worn and sunned, overall good to vg. Scarce. Frederick Shoberl (1775-1853) was and English journalist, editor, translator and illustrator. In the Preface he states that "this work is founded on the French" - probably �Le Langage des Fleures� by Charlotte de la Tour which was first published in 1819.
