New York: Grafton Press, 1902. 1st. Hardcover. Very Good/None. Hardcover, 260 pages. INSCRIBED AND DATED (MARCH 1902) BY AUTHOR LANIER MCKEE ON FRONT ENDPAPER. Front and rear hinges cracked but holding. Previous owners name plate at bottom of title page. Title in gilt on cover and spine. Light fade to spine and cover edges. Clean, unmarked text. Blue cloth, gilt titles and rules. A firsthand account by a senior partner of the New York law firm of Hervey, Barber, and McKee, who practiced law in Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush. The first half of the book comprises an account taken from the author's diary, and includes "a sketch of the rush to the Cape Nome gold-fields and the character of the country and its people. The second half treats the author's assessment of corruption and conspiracy with regard to the way claims were handled. Record # 610527
