London: Her Majesty's Stationery Office, 1961. Printed for the Victoria and Albert Museum. Clean and fresh throughout. The reputation of Kuniyoshi (1798-1861, the last great master of the Japanese colour-print, has been somewhat overshadowed by his contemporaries Hokusai and Hiroshige to western eyes (from the front blurb). This fine study was published on the 100th year of his death. Contains a chapter on his life and works, the dating of his prints, a list of the illustrations in the book. 63 pages of text followed by 98 full-page plates in black and white.. First Edition..
