New York: Wolfe Tone, 1915. McGuire (1868-1923),the "boy mayor" of Syracuse, New York, and an ardent Irish nationalist, supported an alliance with Germany against England. An extremely popular book, it was also published in the same year by Devin-Adair in a larger format; the Wolfe Tone is less common. This is a Fine copy of the Sixth Edition. Red cloth binding with gilt lettering. 285 pages. Clean and fresh text that ends: "God bless Germany! God save Ireland!" The dustjacket (which is extremely scarce) is Very Good, showing some edgewear with minor creases and chips at the margins. The price appears on the spine, and the rear panel notes that "the work is prohibited from circulation in Ireland and Canada." In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Later Printing.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good.
