Into this wilderness (both moral and physical) comes Edgar J. Watson, who at once dominates his neighbours. His white framed house proclaims his success as a sugar plantation owner, but, rumour and speculation was rife,as to why such a hard-working man should be in such a poor place as the Everglades, and rumour and speculation start to overtake him ..... Softening and a little fading to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners and lower book edges. Dust marks to the top textblock edge and the front text edge is deckled.
