Kenneth Grahame was a British writer born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is most famous for The Wind in the Willows, a classic of children's literature, as well as The Reluctant Dragon. Both books were later adapted for stage and film, of which A. A. Milne's Toad of Toad Hall, based on part of The Wind in the Willows, was the first. Other adaptations include Cosgrove Hall Films' The Wind in the Willows, and the Walt Disney films.

Jacket is worn, marked and sunned. Edges are creased and nicked. Dampstains noted at the lower edge of both boards, the jacket interior and pastedowns. Board corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed. Crease along the length of the spine, which is slightly cocked. Page block, pasetdowns and endpapers are lightly tanned and blemished. Very Good. pp 400 A surprisingly unbuttoned biography of the author of The Wind in the Willows inscribed by his nephew, the Canadian novelist on the first blank: 'Gordon Hill Grahame "Ballanack" Jan.1960'. The book is in very good green buckram with some pale marking to the boards and offsetting to endpapers from inserted newspaper clippings. Very Good 1959
