About This Item
Sydney: Allen & Unwin, 2022. Reprint ed.. Hardcover oblong small quarto, very good plus condition, full-page colour drawings, tiny scuff base spine, minimal edgewear. 32 pp. This children's picture story by Radhiah Chowdhury is about a girl called Asiya who loves to visit Nanuâs house. Asiya loves the quilts that tell the stories of the women in Asiyaâs family. This is a beautifully woven tale about the bonds of love, culture and memory. This book is inspired by Bangladeshi katha quilts and traditional West Bengali pattachitra panel illustrations. The author and the illustrator, Lavanya Naidu, explain the story behind the quilts at the rear of the book. .
