London: N. Hailes, [1829]. x, [2], 239pp, [1]. With an engraved presentation plate, a further 14 engraved plates, and a final page of publisher's advertisements. Original publisher's roan-backed cream boards, lettered in gilt. Lightly rubbed and marked. Upper hinge exposed, early inked gift inscription to presentation plate, scattered foxing. The second in a series of annual anthologies of prose and verse for young children edited by Irish novelist Anna Maria Hall (1800-1881), under her married name 'Mrs. S. C. Hall'. The eleventh, and final volume appeared in 1839. . First edition. 8vo.
