Professionally re-backed with original spine laid down, replacing a poor repair of an overtight Riviere binding with attendant scraping of the paste-down endpapers near the gutter, light tone, light wear. Solid hardcover. ; Full leather Riviere & Son binding with marbled endpapers, gilt spine decor, top edge gilt. Publisher's note reads: "The following poem appeared in "The Universal Review" for the 15th of October 1889. The present issue, privately printed for friends, consists of fifty copies only." Michael Collie, George Meredith : A Bibliography, 1974 The University of Toronto Press, XLIa, calling it an "Unauthorized Limited Edition" preceding the 1892 Swan Sonnenschein second edition. ; 15 pages .
