About This Item
New York: Cameron & Kahn, 1955. First Edition. Spine cloth mended; very good in dust jacket, and in a publisher’s slipcase (cracked) with the Rockwell Kent illustrated jacket front panel on on side. We have never seen the slipcase before and presume that it was provided for author’s or publisher’s presentation copies. A fine association copy; presented by the author to Dalton Trumbo, “To Cleo and Dalton and their children ---’Peace, Bread and Roses’ with enduring affection and great admiration. John Wexley, August, 1955.” Wexley was a radical screenwriter, who, like Trumbo, was blacklisted.
