Illustrated ex libris plate laid down on the front flyleaf with prev owner's signature and a date above the plate. Two newspaper cuttings loosely inserted. Prelims, endpages, lower- and fore-edges lightly foxed. Upper page edges tinted. Blue cloth boards in price-clipped dust-jacket which has nicks at the spine head and foot. For this edition the original edition of seven volumes has been reduced to one. Lewis and Clark were the first two men to cross the American continent from the Missouri to the Pacific.
