Both show dampstaining at the upper front panel; Volume Two shows some scuffing to the rear panel as well; light wear to the extremities of both volumes; both volumes have clear 'packing' tape applied to the backstrip; some foxing to the panels; both volumes have a former owner's rather handsome bookplates affixed to the front pastedown endpapers; and another former owner's name inscribed to the front free endpaper; the bindings are square and secure; the texts are clean. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Large 8vo. xlii, 470 pages + 530 pages. Edited by Norman Penny, with an Introduction by T. Edmund Harvey. Brown cloth over boards with gilt titles at the backstrip. Top Edge Gilt. Frontispiece Portraits in both volumes. Hardback with DJ.
