The first edition of this lesser known work by the creator of Just William, this series following a young boy on equally exciting adventures. The first edition, first impression.In the original unclipped dust wrapper.A lesser known work by Richmal Crompton, a new series by her for younger readers than 'Just William'.Jimmy is a sturdy young boy of seven and three quarters, who tags along on adventures with his eleven year old brother and his friends.Crompton went on to write two more 'Jimmy' books after this, titled 'Jimmy Again', and 'Jimmy The Third'.Illustrated with a frontispiece and in-text illustrations by Lunt Roberts. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine, with one small mark to the head of the spine. Edge wear to the dust wrapper, with chips to the head of tail of the spine, and a larger chip to the head of the front wrap. Smaller closed tears to the wraps. Spine is a little sunned. Some light handling marks and rubbing to the wraps, and a few spots to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
