About This Item
Copenhagen: Technological Institute, 1957. First English edition. Folio, pp. 157. Numerous illustrations. Hardback: white cloth-backed blue patterned cloth boards, blue-lettered to spine, two corners slightly bumped, other than a hint of dust to edges book and contents unblemished, very good. White dust-jacket, now somewhat grubby with closed tear to one corner, a little fraying to the others and creasing to edges, still good overall. Translated from and published simultaneously in Danish. A detailed description of a complex astronomical clock, now situated in Copenhagen Town Hall, completed posthumously between 1944 and 1955 (Jens Olsen died in 1945).
Reviews
On Jan 27 2022, a reader said:
I have owned a copy of this extraordinary book for at least 30 years. It is well- written and the photos are amazing. The clock itself is a wonder of technology and mathematical precision. Totally mechanical, the device is s beautiful example of the clockmaker's skill.
