White and black glossy paper-covered boards with gold-stamped white cloth spine, and black and red type with full-color netsuke photograph on front are clean and bright and very good; back cover has minor surface scuffing. Each photograph of netsuke is accompanied by a passage from the romance, Genjii-Monogatari, by the first millenium Japanese poetess, Muasaki Shikibu. An elegant book.. 1st Edition. Hardcover.
