London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1952. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾. N/a. 196pp. 1952. First edition. 8vo. sized. A very good, clean, tight copy in very good or very good minus jacket. Original publisher's green cloth - gilt embossed to the spine. No inscriptions. A frontispiece of James Braid and 3 other illustrative plates - all as called for. Upper edge dyed brown as it should be. Some fading to the extreme head and tail of the spine - particularly where the jacket is missing and some fading to the head of the front board. The jacket has not been price-clipped - it is chipped at the tail with some loss of the letters of 'Stoughton'. Some sellotape ghosting to the tail of the spine. Several short tears and nicks have been expertly repaired. No inscriptions. A very good, clean, tight copy in like jacket.
