New York: Hurd and Houghton, 1867. 12mo size maroon clothbound hardcover with bright gilt titles on spine; 320 pages Locations include: Venice Padua Ferrara Bologna Genoa Naples Pompeii Capri Rome Forza Maggiore Pisa Trieste Bassano Possagno Verona Parma, more Author William Dean Howells was a friend of author Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens.) Some rubbing and wear to covers, weakness in binding at page 80, page 81 has become detached and laid in. Page 81 has an inch tear to top of page margin, minor chipping to bottom of page and spots of soil. The bottom stitch for the signatures from 209-224 is broken and the third stitch in loose (there are three other intact stitches above that.) Name, date, prices written on fep; bumped corners, chipped head and heel of spine; inch tear to top of exterior spine. We noted light stains in the margins of pages 16-20 and elsewhere in book, on outside pages and an inch tear on rep.. First. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
