About This Item

London, Edinburgh, & New York: T. Nelson & Sons, no date (1860 per OCLC). Oblong 16mo (4.25" x 6.5"), Publisher's pictorial printed wraps with "Views of the Isle of Wight as described by the Rev. Legh Richmond (16 pages, sewn) & 10 lithographs in color plus a folding panorama laid in (as issued).

Wraps soiled, edge wear including a loss at the lower corner of the front wrap & another at the top of the rear wrap, previous owner's name in ink on the upper cover (C.R. Buchinger ?), text browned & foxed, plates with foxing & browning mostly evident on the versos, otherwise good or better

One of the plates is annotated in ink on the verso providing the epitaph on the tombstone at Jane's grave which the writer "Visited on August 31, 1860."

Quite uncommon, OCLC locates two copies, both at the British Library (accession number 503981186).
