Signed presentation from Weygandt on the front endpaper, to a former student and now fellow professor: "His old teacher gladly autographs this, his first book, for E[dward]. L. Schaefer who, perhaps, has already [illegible word] as English 73. Cornelius Weygandt. X-17-1939." Contains chapters on The Celtic Renaissance, Edward Martyn and George Moore, W.B. Yeats, "A.E.", George Moore, J.M. Synge, Lady Gregory and others. Appendix of the Abbey Theatre plays produced in Dublin. 12mo., green cloth, stamped in black, in the original dust jacket; 314 pages. Illustrated with photographs of Irish playwrights. Near fine (very nice covers with contents clean & tight); few very tiny tears (little browning spine & some edges) d/j. A really nice copy!
