Bound in black cloth with gold and burgundy striped panel on spine, black lettering. Clean with small pale discolorations on front, rear is sunned along top edge and along spine, slight wear to extremities. Sewn binding is tight, square and solid. Rough cut. Bookplate on endpaper. Internals clean and unmarked, in fine condition. Gunther interviewed 722 people including the ten South American Presidents from the ten principal South American States dealt with in this book. He covered not only the capitals and many principal cities but a good deal of the hinterland as well. His South American report is up-to-date (in 1965), fair,and humane, with wit and humor, with many personality portraits. He provides enough historical and geographical background to get the most out of what he has to tell the reader. Charts and maps are included. Countries included are Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. 610 pages with Bibliography, Sources, and Index. 6 x 8.6 inches. New York.
