Memoir of early years of Charles Alexander Eastman (1858 - 1939), was a Native American writer, physician, and activist who helped founnd the Boy Scouts of American. Left motherless at birth, Eastman was raised by extended family members. The recollections of this volume cover the first 15 years of his life led with nomadic Sioux, often under attack by rival tribes as well as the white man's armies. A record of time past; excellent primary resource for historians.
