This lavish encyclopedia contains over six hundred and fifty plates—sixteen pages of them in full color—illustrating more than a thousand documentary specimens of marked British pottery and porcelain of the period from 1700 to 1900. The illustrations have been collected from a wide variety of sources—from local as well as national museums, from private collectors, and from antique dealers—and the majority of specimens have not previously been illustrated in any reference book.
