About This Item

Urbana, IL: State of Illinois Department of Registration and Education, 1932. Soft cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Very Good, and in fact close to Near Fine. Illinois Coal: A Non-Technical Account of Its Occurrence, Production and Preparation. (Illinois State Geological Survey Bulletin No. 56) by A. Bement.1932 printing. Urbana: State of Illinois Department of Registration and Education, State Geological Survey Division. Plain gray/brown printed perfect-bound wraps, 123 pp. Replete with charts, diagrams, tables, maps, and black and white photographs. Very Good; the inevitable sunning to a binding cover paper of this type is variable but just moderate (see scans); spine tips are lightly roughened, but spine is complete and quite stout. Interior pages have very little age toning, quite sharp. Front free endpaper bears the faintly penciled signature of the owner of this piece in 1957, Margaret Gibson. A very strong Very Good, not far from Near Fine. Not one of the print-on-demand modern attempts at reprinting offered by some sellers; this is the Real McCoy of the 1932 printing. A treasure trove of information and scholarly text for those topically involved, as well as for the collector. It would be difficult to find one in better condition than this. See all scans. Ships in stout protection, of course. LNG6
