Boston: D. Lothrop and Company, 1886. Leather. Poor. Soft brown decorative leather (with cotton backing), over cardboard covers. 59 pp. 13 full page illustrations plus 2 vignettes, all present as called for in the contents. Title page mentions 24 illustrations, but that may have been for the limited folio edition. A collection of poetry by Celia Thaxter accompanied by illustrations from Childe Hassam, Edmund H, Garrett, George Foster Barnes, Henry Bacon and others. POOR condition. Leather COMPLETELY torn off from the front cover and loose, with heavy chipping, tearing and loss along its extremities, including a 2 by 3 inch rectangle threatening to detach at the upper right corner. Heavy chipping and loss of leather at the head and tail of the spine. General toning, minor soiling and staining to the covers. Heavy scuffs at the rear corners and edges. Previous owner's signature present. Minor toning to the text block. Text block and cover solid.
