First published in 1903, this is the scarce 1913 'third and cheaper edition' of Bramwell's work.The work of Scottish physician, surgeon and specialist medical hypnotism, John Milne Bramwell. On the 28th March 1890, Bramwell gave a public demonstration in Leeds of the use of hypnotism for dental and surgical anaesthesia, becoming an expert on the subject.This work includes discussion of hypnosis in animals, hypnotism in surgery, the dangers of hypnotism, methods of inducing hypnosis, and an account of how to improve a persons susceptibility to hypnosis.With the inscription of J.H. Roberts to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail, with fading to back strip. Spotting to fore edge of text block.
