Frontispiece from a drawing. 58 illustrations from photos. A very nice copy. very good The revised privately printed edition of Sternberg's classic Badlands expedition. Inscribed on the front endpaper: "To my kind friend Waldo Wienholdt. From George F. Sternberg, Hays, Kansas. 2-4-47." Weinholt was likely a printer and typesetter, and George F. Sternberg was the author's son, also a paleontologist and discoverer of the "fish-within-a-fish" fossil in Gove County, Kansas. 1932
