About This Item
Manchester: Group for Debates in Anthropological Theory, Department of Social Anhtropology, University of Manchester, 1991. 1st ed. . Green printed card. Fine. 14.5 Cm x 21 Cm. Main speakers were Ingold (con), Wendy James (pro), Roland Littlewood (pro) and Paul Richards (con); 40 pp., p.28 to end being the open debate ((motion carried 41 to 26 with 7 abstentions. A pristine copy of this leaflet, the main speakers' staements provide a very useful overview of the 'constructionism' issue at time of publication, Ingold's opposition basically being that the construction metaphor is too crude and more sophisticated mutually constructing view is preferable - cultural constructionism is not radical enough. Now very scarce. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
